Week 3 – Book Plan
The plan we discussed in class seems to be realistic and would work for me. I really like the idea of doing an online/interactive book that can easily be expanded and edited in real-time.
I’m very interested in doing some video work such as filmed interviews or a promo/documentary.
I’m not quite a flash expert, but a flash version of the book would be relativaely easy to do and would offer another medium to present the book in. One extremely easy way to do this is to simply convert a PDF file using http://page-flip.com/. It would also be possible to do an audiobook using flash or even just an MP3 of someone reading (great for those long road trips!).
As to my participation:
I’m very familiar with HTML/CSS, wordpress integration, database admin, FinalCut, video encoding for online video, camera operation and photoshop.
With that said, my strengths are definitely more on the technical side as I’m a horrible designer and have very little screen personality.
I’m ready to get started on a website as soon as we buy a domain name and a template….

Great idea, Corey. Web presence is important, and multiple formats/ways to access the book will appeal to different readers. Related to your idea about interviews/promo/documentary–would also be good to document this process not just through blogs, but through photo and video. You never know what we may want to use later.
