Digital Media in my life….

I use digital media in my everyday life for work and to entertain myself. For two years I worked as a digital media production assistant for a small academic media hosting company. I am very interested in High-Def video and online video.

When I was about 10 years old I started using the internet on nearly a daily basis. My first website was on geocities (forgotten about until brought up in class). Since then I have created several personal sites and a handful of business sites for friends and family. During high school I attended a year of web-development classes through the community college and this gave me a base to launch my career in digital media.

Currently I am doing an internship with the Coast Guard Auxiallry Public Relations Office in hopes of learning how I can connect both my skills in digital media and my passion for communication stretegy.

On an everyday basis I work maintaining several different websites while also entertaining myself with other, broadcast digital media. Digital media is also fed into my life via my cell phone. I’ve found that unless I go camping in the woods without my phone and computer, digital media is all around me.
